Vintage Sterling Silver Frank M Whiting compote candy dish EXCELLENT

Elegant Frank M. Whiting Company sterling silver compote with lovely flowers around dish edge and beaded band on top and around base. Unusual hollowware footed bowl with beautiful floral design in the center. Number 1199 and Whiting W mark on bottom and Sterling By Frank M. Whiting Company and Weighted and Re-enforced. Sterling holloware compote serving dish measures about 5 ½ inches across the top dish, and is about 3 inches tall. It measures about 2 5/8 inches across the bottom pedestal base. In very nice EXCELLENT vintage used condition with a few very tiny size dings around the base bottom edge.  I gently polished this compote by hand and the buyer may choose to polish it more. I do not know the pattern name or the age of the piece, but my research indicates that Frank M. Whiting used this “W” mark from around 1896 to around the 1940’s. Great decorative holiday gift for that special collector, and beautiful serving piece for candy or for your dinner table!
